cold idle engine warming update

I live in northern wisconsin by eagle river, and in december i bought a 98. 5 with 44000 miles. i talked to a lot of people and they told me i couldn't leave it idle to warm up because it never would warm up and it would cause problems. then when i joined this club i found this update 18-31-1 which is supposed to take care of this problem. i took it to a dealer in michigan and he tried to install the updates but burned up my computer. then i got a new computer installed under warranty and i asked if the update was installed now and he told me yes, but it still doesn't idle up, and now they act like they are scared to even check or try the updates again. I was wondering if anyone knows a good dealer in Wisconsin or the u. p. that will take care of this for me and i don't need to be concerned that they know what they're doing or not.

I wouldnt waste the time with the dealer. Spend $160 and get the PS high idler. Much easier.

Go back to the other thread on this topic. There is name and # of a tech who has done the flash, knows how, and is willing to talk to your mechanic. Mine works great! (And nothing against PS, their products are top shelf. )
