Ever notice how quiet your truck is when you 1st drive it after a cold-start? Mine's REALLY quiet at just above idle through 1500rpm with no real load on it.....

ALSO! Why do we NOT have any clouds of steam/etc. like the gassers? (not that I'm jealous... just curious. )

It has been my experience that our diesel engines (especially the 24V's) get loader below freezing. Very loud around zero and then pretty quiet at -20 when first starting.

You will also see steam (smoke) below -20 at all times. Even when fully warm engine.

Everything smokes with it is really cold.

My guess on the lack of steam is the cooler exhaust temps that diesel have. . but thats just MHO.

You want to make it sound really wierd... fire it up without waiting on the grid heaters... my 24V is real quite for just a little bit if I do that(had a gasser flashback one cold morning... yuck). Other than that my properly valved IMPROPERLY pumped truck is rather loud on fire up :D but its cool

Matt, unless you sent me a pm or e-mailstating otherwise, it is kind of hard to take you seriously. Your just the type (like me) that enjoys goofing around:)
