I'm surprised at the praise you guys have RE adequate heat. The coldest Ive seen in my gen 4 ownership is around -22F and the heat SUCKS. This in a Tradesman with a very limited number of heat settings. Do the higher trims have better heat?
Genos has seat heaterso_O. Mine runs me out.

I don’t think so. I had a 2015 chassis cab tradesman that had killer heat at all temps. I was under the impression that the 6.7 Cummins made plenty of waste heat compared to a 12 valve and that’s why heat was better but I could be wrong.

I would certainly think so as well. Assuming my temp gauge is accurate my thermostat appears to be functioning as it should, but maybe I'll throw a new one in for the heck of it. Even barely below zero the heat has been underwhelming IMO.

My 2015 makes normal temp well below 0, however it’s hvac system is poor at best. I’ve run all 4 gens and the hvac system gets worse with each new truck. I plow snow and the 15 leaves me with the bottom 4-6 inches of windshield covered in ice in a heavy wet snowstorm.

I will also make a statement about the 4th gen HVAC. It won’t keep the windshield from fogging up on the inside when it’s cold. I get plenty of heat but not enough air movement on the defrost setting. My 2nd gen and my 1986 W-100 make decent heat and will keep the windshield defrosted. I agree that with each new model the HVAC system gets worse.

I have the same problem but the lack of heat is definitely noticeable separate from air flow. In the above mentioned temps it takes 30-40 minutes of steady driving, towing or not, before I am able to even turn the heat function to a colder setting. And I am notorious for turning the heat down when others are complaining about not having enough.
