I have a 93 F350 nonturbo 7. 3 that until just recently would start very easily in cold weather, but now if it is not plugged in it won't start at 30! Got any ideas as to why?

I have started mine in single-digit cold many times and it fires right up. No multi-cycling of the heaters, block heater not plugged in, just wait until the wait light goes off.

Runs like a (very loud) sewing machine (from hell).

IF you want the engine to turn over easier on the COLD, install a good quality "Full" synthetic oil.

10-4 on that! I have Delo 400 in the '96 and Amsoil 15w40 in the '98. By the time temps get below 20F the '98 cranks over much easier than the '96.
