I have an 03 HO with 50K miles. I have noticed two things about my truck over the past 25K miles.
First when it's cold out, below 40 degrees, when you start the truck and take off within a minute or two it shoulds like an old style diesel rattling. Like the pilot injection isn't working. Once over a thousand or so on the tach it sounds like the pilot injection is working again. Is this normal? For sure when warmed up sounds normal.
Secondly I am having an issue starting the truck when warmed up. On cold starts it starts immediately once you wait for the start light to go out. If hot lets say after a 45 minute drive to work and then shut it off. If you start it back up within 10 minutes it will never immediately start. It cranks and cranks then starts. When it does start black smoke comes out of the exhaust. Kinda like it's flooded.
Any thoughts??
