Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Cold start trouble.

Started in 20 degrees using wait to start. Shut off and restarted within 30

seconds w/o waiting for heater. Ran rough for a few seconds and now has

a constant mechanical "tunking" sound. What did I mess up.

Turn it off. Now restart it and ALWAYS WAIT until the 'Wait to Start' lamp goes out.



Did it start?



Can you drive it around SLOWLY until the water temp come up?



IF you can, has the noise gone away?



Cold diesels are cranky. Can you plug it in at night?

Thanks for reply. Happened awhile ago in Michigan. Almost always plugged in. Not

This time though. Will try warm up and see if it goes away.
