AutoTrans Tune-Up, What's a Turn

Welcome Aboard. Where do you live?

If you live in a cold weather climate and buy your fuel locally, you shouldn't have to worry about anti-gel - the fuel supplier provides it in the fuel.

Now if you have large fuel tanks, and fill up in Florida and plan to run up to Maine on that one tank; prior to shutting down you should fill up with local fuel and run it for a bit before shutting down. This will ensure your fuel system is purged of "non-treated" fuel and won't gel on you sitting overnight.

There are a number of threads discussing fuel additives (FA) and anti-gel - try using the search function. If using a fuel additive and/or anti-gel gives you a warm and fuzzy - use it whenever you like.

Bulabula,

First of all, welcome to the TDR! I live in MN and I personally get concerned about fuel when the temp is around 25 (F) and colder. I usually run Power Service all winter long to be on the safe side unless the pump is specifically marked blended fuel. When the temp is extremely cold, (like -10 for a high of the day), I run straight #1. I always buy fuel where they turn it frequently and try to avoid "Mom and Pop" places.

Good luck and enjoy your new ride!

Paul
