cold weather front - another ambient sensor?

if the sensor is behind the grill, doesn't the cold weather kit block ambient air from hitting the sensor? I was getting high ambient temp readings with my plow on. when the ambient temp reads higher than the cab interior, the heat is not as strong.

I haven't looked to see where the 2010 sensor is but on my 2005 it was below and just left of the drivers headlight, facing the truck. It was about flush with the bumper. I found it when a tech broke the connector off with his foot. If you put a cold front on, unless you put it outside the grill the sensor would be ahead of the front.
