Is there a breather on the 48re?

Any difference between 03, Early 04?

Curious when the out side temps are at 20 degrees, and your running 80-90 intake temps at highways speeds with the cold front closed up, is there a potential to break anything?

A few times I found my self on the highway (wasn't planning on it) with it closed up intake temps near 100. Once the water temp got over 205 I pulled over and opened things up.

Now, in the summer, 100degree intake temps aren't all that bad, when it's 80 degrees out . But when your near 80 degree differences, is that a bad thing?

It doesn't make sense that this should be a problem, but I may be missing something. :)

Jason, this is what I have doing. I close all the flaps up and leave the house and when it reaches 200 (usually around 10 miles on the highway) I get out and open all 4 flaps up. I don't think anything is wrong with the way you are doing it, but you will sacrifice hp and higher egts. If I am only driving 20 miles or less away I will just leave all the flaps closed. I guess it depends on how far you are going to drive. If I tow at al,l the whole cover needs to come off to get the proper air to the raidiator and the intercooler. Hope this helps.
