Planning a trip to northern Tenn. this winter, temps in the 30s currently. Been reading a lot about what you guys are doing to winterize your trucks. This is where I get a little ignorant. Being from Florida as you can imagine I dont have to deal with this problem. So, my question is will I have to worry about the gelling of fuel ect. . that I keep reading about, & if so do I plug the truck in over night, add some thing to the fuel? Or is it actually when the temps reach the teens that you should worry?

I would start by checking the antifreeze in the truck to make sure it's up to par. As for the diesel, it can't hurt to add something to help prevent gelling (powerservice, stanadyne, etc. ) since your diesel in florida may or may not be winterized. As for plugging it in, it certainly won't hurt, but isn't particularly necessary above freezing.

Hope this helps,

Mishkaya
