If you run your truck where the temperature drops below 22-25* F. you might wish to read the following...

We've noticed a few customers with PacBrakes that have the pressure switch for the compressor located down by the air tank with a problem that is weather related. . On these trucks we've seen some moisture that can lodge in a low point of the air tubing and freeze... this frozen moisture (ice) will prevent the pressure switch from seeing the correct pressure and starting the compressor...

We've moved several of these switches to the air line along the fire wall where it see's engine heat... for us, this has been a good fix. .

If your PacBrake came with the pressure switch on the compressor, no change is necessary...

In addition for those who don't have an exhaust brake. . PacBrake has announced a $100 rebate on all brakes purchased during Dec & Jan... you just fill out a coupon and mail it in with proof of purchase during the dates of the promotion... .

Jim,

Thanks for your, usual, good information & for the notice of the $100. 00 coupon on the purchase of a new PacBrake.

I have an '03, HO, NV-5600, 4X4, stock turbo & exhaust downpipe. I'm intrigued by the red, push-pull, activating switch that mounts on the shift lever. Do you have those? Can they be used?

Would you please PM a price on the brake?

I tow a 25' Nash 25-S bumperpull travel trailer that probably weighs somewhere in the 6000lb. range. The trailer has two 3500 lb. axles. When I tow, it is in the mountains, quite a bit. Only a couple of times have I wished for more braking than what the truck & trailer provided. Most of the time, I can downshift & be OK. With this information, would I be a candidate for an exhaust brake?

Thank you.
