My 13 3500 6.7 threw a P2201 code which ended up being NoX sensor #1. OK ! They , Dodge dealer, wanted $ 1300 to RR. I found one from Dorman for quite a bit less, but, Cummins/Mopar computer will not recognize after market sensors and will throw the same code again causing another replacement, which aint easy!!
Aint that a green wagon with big red wheels!!!!!
What say yall?????

Dealer said it's "better" to use OE parts. Also, I believe it was a forum called Ram forum .com posted comments regarding this subject. Would this be the same as with fuel filters recognizing only a few as correct ?

While only a couple of companies build the correct fuel filters for our trucks, the truck doesn’t know which filter is installed. The issue is using quality parts that are designed for your truck.
Remember, FCA doesn’t make the sensors or the filters for your truck. They purchase them from the lowest qualified bidder.

The sensor is most likely not the issue. May be a connection or software problem. It may even need a software update.
You need a mechanic instead of a parts changer. Could even be a defective sensor but not likely.

It’s just like O2 sensors on a car, people change them all the time because the computer says it’s throwing a code so it must be bad.
What half of these goons don’t consider it may be throwing the code because the sensor is telling you the emissions system / cat converter can’t overcome the mess coming from the engine as a result of too much fuel or some other condition.

Better to use Dealer parts? When I checked on the CCV filter at the dealer it was $176. From Geno's for the same filter it was $72. It's better for the dealer to pay an extra $100, for sure. Dorman has good parts and you shouldn't get an error code on the sensors.

When the dealer tells you O.E. he doesn’t mean for you to go to Genos. Especially when he’s feeding you a line about non O.E. Sensors not being recognized by the trucks ecm.

I know what you mean. When I compared my Geno's supplied CCV to the stock one I pulled of the truck, I saw no difference at all. Except one was dirty. I am pretty sure that both were manufactured by the same company. I believe Geno's says there's is an OEM filter.
