Colorado archery elk help.

Has anyone had any luck hunting the colorado archery elk seasons in GMU 45 and 37? This is my first season in Colorado, and am looking for suggestion on where to look. I am open to hunting any Over the counter unit for elk, if anyone needs a archery hunting partner.

Where are units 45 and 37? I've archery hunted several times out in CO and may be able to help answer some questions, and if not, most of my hunting partners have hunted out there since the early 70's. I hunt in unit 34? Basically the Dotsero exit off of 70 about 5 miles west of Eagle and with luck will be rifle hunting out there for the second combo season (starts Oct. 20). We usually hunt the archery opener though to get first crack at the animals before everyone has them spooked, plus, there have been a few years the later seasons get a little too much snow to comfortably drive through (30"+)

Unit 45 starts around Eagle, S. side of 70 and runs E. to the junction of HWY 91 and 70, at copper mtn. ski resort. Unit 37 Starts the other side of 91 and runs E. I ran into some bugling bulls last weekend before cutting my hunt short with news of my grandfather passing away. I will head back up this Saturday and hunt the weekend. Hoping they are still in the rut, the weather is perfect today, wish I was on the mtn.

I talked to a friend today who was on his way home with his son who got a 6x6 today. He said it was bigger than his, and his is over 300", so I can imagine its a good one.

Had a great hunt, I was into the elk every day I hunted and called in 16 different bulls, all legal to shoot. Colorado Legal is 4pt or better. Unfortunately didn't connect with any. Guess there is next year.
