Oil Bypass

The December 2002 issue of Construction Equipment magazine shows a Fleetguard "Venturi Combo" oil filter which combines a full-flow filter with a bypass filter in the same canister. There is a cutaway photo of it and the part # appears to be "LF3000". Anybody familiar with these? Would they fit our engines and if so, would they be better than the MicroGlass or StrataPore?

The article mentions that Baldwin and LuberFiner are making combination filters also- mebbe this is the coming thing?

I looked at the Venturi system for removing soot. The price quoted to me was $3,000. Kind of stopped me dead in my tracks. :( That is for the full blown Venturi system.

The canister one that is offered with the bypass in it looks like it would work just fine. The dealer seems reluctant as to say whether it would work on our engines or not. Don't know why.

The 12 across the top of the cab work great. The 14 accross the hood are not giving me the deflection that I had hoped for. I am pulling them up and will reposition them for a better deflection of the air. I'm trying to keep small gravel from impacting on the windshield. ;)

Combo filter

My work truck, with ISM Cummins, has the filter you saw on it. Great idea. I haven't checked to see if Cummins is putting these on the ISB though. Anybody have access to Fleetrite listing - new stuff?

Is there an update on this? I have been searching and can't find out if I can put this filter on my truck. I think it would be an easy way to have a bypass system.
