Combo guage

Got my combo guage from Geno's installed last week. I really like it in that little useless hole in the dash. So faar the truck is stock and as it is I've only seen EGTs of 1000 degrees, and as everyone has said, my boost guage tops at 20lbs. I haven't pulled anything of much weight and no hills yet so the 1000 degrees seems pretty normal to me. While cruising down the interstate @ 70 EGT is steady at 700. Do these numbers sound correct given the driving situations I've discribed?

I don't have answers to your question, but I do have a question for you. I am considering the combo-gauge-in-the-useless-hole scenario, but I was wondering how easy it is to see. The combo gauge seems a bit "busy" already. Does it add to the time your eyes are off the road by being half the dash away?

Those numbers sound about right to me.

No not at all. It's quite easy to see and to read. After just one time of full boost and EGT reading you know where the needle should be and you're not really reading after that, you're just comparing where the needles are to where you know the maximum is. Wish I could show you mine, you'ld see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the reply. I can see how the analog gauges would be great because once you know where the normal range is, you don't need to "look" at them. Besides, the efficient use of space makes good sense to me.

Good gauge only drawback is if one gauge quits, you loose both while repare of one is done . Some will work for ever with out a problem . Just a thought . Ron in Louisville KY
