There are some guys where I work who have pretty remarkable (remarkably bad, that is) combovers. And I can't help but wonder, do they think anyone is fooled?

Anyone willing to admit having one, and willing to discuss why?

I just don't get it. I've never met anyone who admitted that a combover is the way to go if you lose your hair. And yet it's an epidemic out there.

Honestly, I almost feel insulted by every man with a combover. It's like he's saying "you are so stupid and clueless I can do this with my hair and you'll never notice. "

One time me and a coworker confronted a guy in my office with his AWFUL combover. Told him he looked ridiculous (in a diplomatic way), and suggested we raffle off the right to shave his head, with all the proceeds going to a charity of his choice.

The guy went off the deep end and to this day doesn't speak to either of us. And he still has the combover, and it looks ridiculous as ever.

Men with hair have no idea how great it is to not have hair.

I like when the wind catches the sweet combover just right and it makes it stand up like a sail! Awesome.

BTW, I'm thinning, so I buzz it every 10 days or so with a #2.

mine too gets shaved every so often with the #2... once i really start loosing the hair, i'll switch to the #0 [no guide clip] and bic it. . my fat head will look even bigger :(

And nobody says anything about you guys smelling like diesel?

:-laf

I'm not balding, but since 1995 I've been buzzing my head with the #0 once a week, every week.

I've got to the point that only 4 days following the trimming I feel like I've got an afro.

CRobertson - great point about the "sail". I love it when that happens, and you can tell he's doing everything to try to get it to flop back on his head without looking like he's trying to get it to flop back on his head.

Oh I don't know about that

Anyway I have been developing MPB for a few years now .

I leave just a touch to justify keeping a comb. There is no doubt and I don't try to hide the fact that my tide is going out!!:-laf
