MASON DIXON CHAPTER,,BIG RIG NATIONALS MAY 1st

I'm sending this around to see if there is enough interest to get a group together to go to the All-Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, PA which is on July 9-11, 2004. This is probably one of the biggest, if not the biggest show events for Chrysler vehicles. There are thousands of cars on the showfield, a swap meet, dyno testing and more. Overall it is just a good time to get out and see what other people have done with their vehicles and kick tires.

In order to get our own sectoin of the showfield as a club we need 25 cars paid and registered to show up. Since this is not a TDR nor DTR event (I am a paying/donating member of both) and I am trying to get people from both places to go, I'd suggest we attend as a joint club and not necessarily represent either website.

If you're interested, please fill out this form here (more info also at the below link):

Patrick,

I am interested. I was there last year, but without a truck. I am looking forward to attending this year.

Awesome. I've never been to the All Chrysler's but have been to the All Fords many times with my friend's club and had a great time. I'd love to be able to go as a club to get our own dedicated parking spots on the field and tent!

I wish i could go but the Bloomsburg Jamboree is the same weekend: ( Alot more trucks will be there . Maybee we can get a group for the All truck Nationals in August i believe the 1st weekend. Last year there was 5 or 6 Cummins and they had a dyno unfortunately i had my Powerjoke which is down with a blown rear so most likely i'll bring the Dodge this year.

A Couple of notes... .

First,I have tried to get this organized for the last 3 years for guys to come in. Last year we had the organization(Turbo Diesel Register) added to their club listing so we could get into the count. I have found it very hard to get more than 10 trucks as alot of guys who come will not support the TDR there and support their other Internet based or local car clubs for count.

I have registered and used the Turbo Diesel Register for my club affiliation. If you have never been to this meet you will find they treat us like red headed step children and put us way up on the hill where most people will not walk to look at the trucks. You only get the diehard fans and the rest, well its their loss.

Now for Bloomsburg. .

Last year at Carlisle we found alot of the "heavy hitters" in the Mopar 4x4 ranks abandoning Bloomsburg for the Carlisle show. Reasons varied but one main one that popped up was the way that they treat you up there, both inside the gate and outside. I have been to both and will tell you honestly the Mopar show is alot nicer with better attitudes, you choice though, not mine.

One thing also that needs to be mentioned is the Pre-Carlisle Kick-Off show held at Cumberland Valley Chrysler Plymouth. Its held every year on the Thursday nite before the main show and is alot of fun. Killer rides, cool trucks, good fun and lots of stories make this a show to attend. It usually begins about 4pm,but as the time draws closer I'll post the info for it. You will never know who is sporting about there and you may be surprised who shows up.

I'll post a update as the date draws closer for both and as soon as I receive the info for the pre-show... ... ... ... . Andy

Andy, thanks for the good info. I'm very interested in Carlisle, if MDTDR wants to make it an event, let me know if I could help out in any way.

Interesting...

I'm used to going as the #1 club.

The Merkur's ARE the Red headed step children of Ford, and they stick together. 1 club for every single Merkur and they ALWAYS win the award for most cars in attendance... as they are an international club.

I'd love to go and have a place to gather around, make some t-shirts and some stickers and maybe give away some prizes but it seems like nobody wants to go or ???

I've gotten 4 responses on the form so far.

If there aren't enough people I'll end up just going to the All Fords again and stick to working the heck out of my truck as it likes.

Patrick. .

The only way to become the number 1 car group at Carlisle for the Mopar meet is to get enought guys with Mopars(cars and trucks) to enter the show field and register under the TDR club affiliation. You may use ANY brand of Mopar to register under our club affiliation as they ALL count toward final count. The NEOHA(Northeast Hemi Owners) have done this for years and continue to win the big trophy. They may have only about 100 members present, but, some of them will enter multiple cars to add to their count. I know personally one guy who last year entered 7 cars, trucks and even a frigging mini van just so they could win. 2years ago they about got knocked of their high horses when the PT Cruiser owners showed up as it was a national event, they missed by 2 cars.

There is always a dozen of us running around and no reason for you to skip out on this, but, again, its your choice. A good quality show, too many cars to look at before you kill your feet, great food, plenty of ladies wandering about and lots of fun to be had.

If your interested in going let me know, you will have fun. I'll PM you my numbers again, call me over the weekend we need to chat a bit I want to use your help with a couple of ideas I have planned for later... ... ... ... . Andy

Oh I don't want to go as the #1... Just wanted enough to get our own tent and place on the field which is 25 people.

I'll probably go no matter what, but it is just fun to have a place to go and hang out and meet up with people.

I'll be there on Saturday. I look forward to seeing Hammer and see what else ProRam has done to his truck. Hammer, probably won't recognize the truck, the 35" tires, grill guard, step bars are all gone and it looks pretty much stock with the exception of the 5" piping.

I look forward to seeing some new faces, see you in Carlisle.
