Messin' with my truck's mind

Cummaparts!

i will also tell yall the price did make a factor in the decision the truck is a fully loaded 3500 drw cc 4x4 auto LT with all the bells and whistles except for the dvd player i drove it off the lot and gave 38k for it, i thought that was a steal i just hope she holds up to the test i am about to give her 16k worth of trailer for round trip of 3k miles ought to do it. and no it is not pink even though pink is one of my favs. (silver birch)

I can see the 4 door thing being an issue for some, power is close give or take. They all seem to hold there value. For whats its worth I have both a 94 Ford 7. 3 Turbo IDI (non powerstroke) and a 94 12v CTD and like and appreciate the fact that I can work on the 6B\ISB inline 6 with-in the engine compartment. Warranties do not last forever and having the extra room \ less parts is a confidence builder or at least less intimidating IMHO. Take a look inside an engine compartment on a 1994-2005 7. 3/6. 0 ford diesel powerstroke and then the 6. 6 Duramax and then the 94-05 5. 9 cummins ISB. If you are not a do it yourselfer type this may not matter. My 7. 3 being an IDI pre powerstroke non computer controlled engine is not as bad and the post 94 powerstrokes but its still not as easy to me as the 6BT or ISB. Duramax still too new for me as is the 6. 0 international. The newer 03-05 5. 9 ISB although newer still have roots. Fact is when I replace my 12v with my 24v 2003 dropin the 12v will be replacing the 7. 3 when it finally dies.

In any case congrats, I hope it serve you well as I'm sure it will and any of the three will do the job.

One other little THING I have noticed is walk by a Ford 6. 0 or Duramax in a parking lot after shutdown. Even a couple of hours later. LOTS OF HEAT still emitting from the V8 diesels ad NOT so with the Cummins. Try working on eaither of the V8s two hors later and a Dodge with Cummins. BIG DIFFERANCE. This also takes a toll on underhood wire harness's and sensors etc. In fact the under hood heat differance from my 93W250 compared to my 2003 3500 is somewhat noticeable but the V8 diesels compare to gas burners.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the "engine breaking feature"! Quite a few GM's have that problem i've noticed...

Buddy showed kup with a new Max today. I looked it over and told him it was a very nice truck. Truth is, I wouldn't consider a Chev with a Cummins available. Didn't like the styling either. He said a 4 door was too much $. Paid 36000 for extended cab???

ya double i am used to being the black sheep in the family but i can and always will say this tdr as always been thier for me. thanks for everything folks. Oo.

I'll prolly take my brother's Duramx off his hands when he gets new truck fever. He's already showing signs! Hmm, I wonder if the Allison in my 03 RAM is a doable project???
