Well I just wanted to post something on here now that I finally have registered. I have been reading alot of posts and find many helpful and useful ideas. I have nearly 2000 mi on my truck. I put the k&n air filter in. It seemed to increase the trubo noise a fair amount. But I am one of those guys whose wife says "your truck in to ******* loud" as i read in someones post earlier. I enjoy the truck and am not sorry about getting the auto. My only concern with it is that 3-4 shift is to much of a jump and that I maybe should have gotten the 4. 10 rears as to get my rpm to 2000 I have to drive over 80. And that pulling at highway speed of 70 or so is to low of a rpm to pull a load in OD. But in 3rd pulls it very well. Thus leading me to believe the 300 rpm difference of the gears would do me well and not affect the milage that much?? One other thing to concider would be the plug and power module. If this would possibly make up the difference. I plan on using this truck the way it is and do not want a highly modified toy. I am not 16 and do not go dragracing anymore. Just want useful power when it is needed occasionally.
I put a few Stainless extras on my truck since I bought it to. I added The stainless dee zee running boards (wife-your truck os to **** tall!) wheel well opening trim, Tube bars on the box, and today I put on a access cover (toneua cover made by a local company in Jamestown, ND). The cover looks sharp and will be handy for gear on those snowmobile trips. I just mentioned it cause you don't see many covers that are this good and I don't think they sell them in that big of an area. Any how sorry for blabing and thanks to all the guys who answer some of these posts the info is very useful.

Well, I just got a 2001 white 3/4 ton qc sb slt. Auto with 3. 54 gears. I will use it for Hauling cattle occationally, Flatbed trailer hauling water for spraying and whatever we put on it, pulling 2 1000 gal anhydrous tanks at a time and other chores like hauling the wife and kid to town.
