HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA .... i smell a RAT ...

Naiven R. Johnson ?????? am i the only person that saw the movie "THE JERK" ... one of my favorite lines ... the new phone books here , the new phone books here ... . here's my name , right in print , I'M SOMEBODY !!!! ... . who is this guy , besides a banks mouthpiece ???? not that i would expect banks to bother to stoop to that level ...

mr johnson , you are absolutly correct , DC is the ultimate problem , but again , if you read what i posted , DC denies claim , you have 2 choices , fight them while your truck is broken in their lot , or pay to fix it and choose or choose not to fight . either way the consumer is screwed . unfortunately most of us bought the CUMMINS , seems now its rapped in a bad package , maybe we need CUMMINS to take their engine to the competition ???? but god i hate fords and chevys in general ...

I don't think the topic is DC and how they will or will not deal with a warranty. Nor is the subject the quality of Banks stuff. The thread gets off the track with that. Is Banks' advertising deceptive or not? From what I read and understand it is and that is deliberate. The customer is lead to believe that if they purchase Banks equipment there will no warranty problems from DC. Having to resort the MM act shows that there is a problem from the get go. Banks appears to be reluctant to just come right out and say there will be warranty problems. That would cause them to loose sales to gullable customers.

"Banks rep" NJohnson sez:

" The original warranty cannot be imperiled simply because we've chosen to improve the capabilities of our trucks. "

GEEZE fella, give us a BREAK!

After reading all the above posts, it SHOULD be obvious to all but the village idiot we AREN'T talking about the ENTIRE warranty being voided, only those parts that can be shown to be affected by the aftermarket modifications done by the owner - and NO, that DOESN'T mean that warranty repairs/replacement of the radio will be voided simply because new wheels are installed - SHEESH!

What we ARE saying - and should be obvious to anyone not attempting evasion or deception - is that DC probably WILL void portions of their warranty dealing with the drivetrain when they discover serious power enhancing devices have been installed on a truck that is brought in for warranty repairs. And so would YOU, if YOU were being potentially ripped off by a customer who has obviously made substantial modifications to the truck, overstressing the engine and the rest of the drivetrain BEYOND what DC has determined to be reasonable and proper.

You see, DC is in the business of MAKING money in their business JUST like your friends over at BANKS - and that is hard to do if you are being bled to death by expensive and fraudulent warranty claims by those of us who try to increase the power of our trucks, but are too cheap and irreresponsible to accept the physical and financial RISKS that go WITH those modifications.

SORTA like how BANKS seems to wanna get the financial BENEFITS of selling performance products, but NOT properly admit those risks to the customer up front at the time of sale... :p

We don't necessarily object to Banks products, price or quality - only to their evasive and misleading advertising practices - or ANY similar aftermarket supplier who does the same for that matter!

the topic should not be about DC , but it seems that the smoke and mirrors overs at banks and co. are making it look like its DC that is the problem , but it is . if they just sold us what we wanted , 500 rwhp and 50 miles to the gallon, there would be no need to BOMB

Banks customer service

Have any of you guys had to callthe Banks 800 line??? What a JOKE!!! If you ever get to talk to someone, they just try to blow you off and hope you don't call back. Banks sucks!!!

I am a new member of TDR as many of you pointed out that yesterday's entry was my first post. I own a 2000 3500 4WD equipped with a Banks Powerpack. That's no reason to snidely refer to me as a "Banks rep". I'm simply trying to figure out why all you geniuses on warranty have such a problem with Banks pointing out the legal truth. Your animosity should be directed at the snake dealerships blowing people out the door for making any mod to their trucks. I've read the Banks warranty statement just as any consumer would before making a decision to buy the product. They quote the Magnusson Moss act. The language in the that act is fairly easy to understand. The fact that DC has taken it upon themselves to act as federal law interpreters is the issue. DC needs a wake up call and sitting around slamming Banks isn't going to solve the problem. Many of you offer huge accolades for companies who tell you that your warranty is toast if you install their product. I don't call that honesty on their part... I call it a cop out. It's a great way to communicate to the customer that if you want to install this product, you're on your own. At least Banks has the balls to take a position on the issue and put it in writing. As I said last night... we've chosen to give DC our business. We've discovered that they are eager use any after market mod as leverage to void warranty coverage. That really isn't Banks' fault. And please don't reply that the warranty statement is misleading because it isn't. They are simply suggesting that the law is on the customer's side on this issue. I guess if you want to label me a "Banks Rep" I'll proudly accept. The Powerpack did everything they told me it would do. Thanks.

Naiven,

I'll bet you change your mind if you dyno your truck.

Don't forget the dealers

IF the DC dealerships were not in so much of a hurry to VOID warranties maybe they would see that some modifications to the engine don’t affect the radio. All three of the DC dealers within driving distance are SO FULL OF THEMSELVES that I can't stand to deal with them. Try getting service people to give you the time of day is next to impossible. The sales staff/management are the SMOKE & MIRROR KINGS, see what happens when you bring them a trade-in. They can switch prices so fast, that you think felt a sonic boom ! So when I keep reading how Bank's is to blame for the warranty problems I am a bit confused. Last I knew (and have experienced) the DEALER will use ANY excuse to void a warranty, PERIOD. I have had the dealer TRY to cancel my warranty on my 97 Chrysler T&C for getting rid of the air-leaking Michelins tires and putting aftermarket wheels(dealer could never get them to stop leaking with out using fix-a-flat) The new tires/wheels were the same size and rating of the factory one but held air. It really is too bad that now that DC has some decent products they have become first class a**h*l*s & have forgot about the people who were there for them in the 70s & 80s.

Things I think I am sure of,

1. DC Dealerships around here would make GREAT Politician training schools.

2. More power is addictive

3. Use of More Power = things break.

4. Bank's Intercooler was a piece of cake to install & works well.

5. Beating a dead horse draws flies.

Welcome aboard N. Johnson, definitely started your membership with a bang :) you should fit right it !
