Commercial Optima Battery

Hey Gang, I just got a Bochure from OPTIMA on there Commercial Yellow Top C31 Battery. . These things are Recommended for 18 Wheelers along with Heavy Equipment Emergency Vehicles ... What I'm wondering is, A. Do any of our TDR People Sell these things? B. Has anyone tried these Commerical Battery's? I'm thinking maybe ONE Battery MIght Run the Truck instead of Two... I heard they were coming, supposed to be available in a red top also.

I suppose Interstate should handle them. Is that the size that will fit our trucks? Don’t we use a Group 27?

don't rush out just yet

I picked up a couple of 6 volt golf cart batteries for my trailer today at Interstate Battery and asked about the new battery. The manager led me over to the "blue" top RV/Marine deep cycle version of the battery and told me that there is a total recall on all the batteries as the plastic on the top is failing. Looks like a "sag" in the plastic about 3" in diameter. Cost is in the range of $165 for one. He did a little math and said he thought one yellow top would not be enough to match the cranking power of two Gp 27's. Regards, Lynn
