cditrani,
I'm curious to what extent burning in the exhaust manifold is occuring in these engines. I've seen 2-stroke data where peak EGT is 18 inches downstream of the exhaust valve. Certainly 4 strokes wouldn't burn so far down, but it would be interesting to see data from an engine equipped with thermocouples every 1/2 inch or so.
Looking back, we've come so far from my original question about the common rail mechanism.
