Just wondering what fuel pressure readings are for those of you running the edge comp with stock fuel systems. I just put a fuel pressure guage in and was pleased to see 13psi at an idle and around10-11 cruising. Heres the problem I usually have the comp set on 1x3cause the weather stinks, butif i pass a car the pressure drops to about 6-7 and i lift. With the truck on 5x5there is a drag race with the tach. and the fuel pressure usually wins. Forget even looking at the pyro. fuel psi will be at 2 for it has a chance to get toasty. Truck runs awesome but i have a new injection pump and new lift pump and i am nervous to run it hard as damage to the pump may happen. With the comp off you can drive it like you stole it with no worries. Is this the norm?

It's a pretty safe bet that a hard pull or vigorous accelleration with a Comp on 5x5 is gonna pull the PSI at the VP-44 down a few PSI - I've never really checked mine under those circumstances to see exactly how much - but then, my fuel system hasn't been "stock" very much of the time I've owned the truck... :D :D

EGT has never been a problem, even in heavy RV pulls with the Comp maxed out on 5x5...

Pressure

I just got my fuel pressure hooked up yesterday, and I see 14psi at idle, 12-13psi @ cruising, and can pull it down to about 4psi on 5x5. I think I will do something like a fass, rasp, or build a high flow kit of some sort before I put my Mach 1. 5's in.

The pressures you mention are about normal for a stock fuel system. If you are not planning to go farther power-wise, something like our big fuel line kit would take care of it for you. You don't want to pull the VP44 down to less than 6psi at the INLET TO THE PUMP. Make sure you are reading the FP there, and not at the fuel filter. We would expect to see about 5-6psi increase to the pump at the 350hp level over stock lines.

you will need big line kit and pusher pump to bring pressures pack to normal. pusher pump kits are nice they are affordable reduce cavitation and they will make stock lift pump last a long time by taking the load off of them.

i will probably keep this truck were it is at ,maybe some small edm's1. 5 or so will a fuel line kit be enough. these numbers were taken off of the schader valve with a westach electric sender.
