Comp And No Smoke?!

On a 98. 5 of my friends, comp on level 5 with the sub level on 5 it will not smoke much. Very much at all. Is that the way it suppossed to be? When we 1st hooked it up, it did alot!! then about 10 ft. later it won't smoke much. It is hooked up to the pump, but could this wire come loose? Or really the main question is, does it smoke alot??

Well, what injectors does he have? what turbo? These things can also make a big difference in smoke levels...

No, the truck is stock other than the Comp Box. Even on level 5 and sub level 5 it doesn't hardly smoke at all on launch .....

if the smoke level is that low, you have a bad box or

You should be laying down some good smoke if you mash it from a stop.

With a stock truck you should only get a quick puff off the line,then no smoke,just power. My 2000 didnt smoke with a comp either,until i added the dd3's .

With stock injectors it really won't generate that much smoke, ecspecially with the stock turbo that spools fairly fast.

When I installed the comp on my 99 it would hardly smoke at any level, even 5x5. After the DD2's went in, the smoke behavior changed completely. Now you can make it smoke almost at will.
