Ok I have searched and read a pile of posts and my head is spinning.

Im thinking about adding a set of mach 4s to my truck, and Im sure with the comp I will send the egts to the moon. What turbo will keep everything in check, and will I send headgasket chunks flying?

The truck is used for towing occasionally up to 10,000 max,but usually its empty.

If you look at my sig the 99 it is almost identical to the truck you are working on except it has 130hp injectors. It has an HTB2 and it keeps it cool. You will need a clutch with that setup!! A EEP dual disk is going into the one in my sig due to the toasted factory clutch.

I would recommend the HTB2, II PS62, etc.

The Con FE was considered but the truck will be hooked to a sled every once in a while. Everyone said do it once and do it right. The single disk just won't hold up to what the truck will be used for.

Look around for turbos. Many times you can get used ones off the classifieds and save some money. Other than HTT and II you can also look at B-1's, BD Super B, or Forced inductions sss-62.

I am with TJarecke, I have supermentals in my HO and I can tow 10K lbs with the comp box off and have no EGT issues at all. My bluechip pump cover has lost connection I suspect so I can't tell you what happens when you start turning up the box. I think for the money it is tough to beat the HTB2 62 charger. PM me and we can discuss pricing if you want.

HX82 moves a good bit of air, but some say it's laggy. ;)

If you like your comp box now, you will love it with injectors. The sub levels for fuel actually start to mean something. Before the injectors the fuel settings on the higher power levels didn't give much change, but after the injectors you can definately feel the change.

The best thing about the turbos that are available now is that most are upgradeable for a very reasonable amount. If you decide the HTB2, PS62, or sss-62 is too small send it in and they will make it do what you want.

No head work needed. The newer turbo offerings are wastegated at ~42psi which is ok on the factory head gasket. My brother's 99 in my sig has had that setup for a year with one sledpull on it, and no probs.

aaron,

If you can afford it go with Industrial Injections' super phat shaft 62 with the 14cm exhaust housing. That is what I'm running and although I don't have injectors, I'm planning on mach 4's as well and was told this turbo will work great. So far I'm very inpressed with it and was told I could go to 600hp and be ok. II is a great company and you won't be dissapointed. The other turbos mentioned I'm sure will do the trick and if money is tight maybe check into the HT line.

With the parts in my sig, I get toasty EGTs (1500* for a few seconds) fairly quickly on dyno runs on 5x5 and towing 12k trailer (Comp off and I use the throttle to modulate the EGT). I don't remember all of the dimensional specs of my B1-2, but I would suggest a B1 or equivalent. No kwik spools, no 12cm housings, etc. Keep the wastegate ~40 and it will be good.

Also, the ConFE is holding great after 30k miles. It is a bit grabby, but you get used to it.

I just installed a confe clutch and mach 3 injectors with my comp box and it runs great. I have had both a con ofe and now the con fe and they feel simialar to me driving them the con fe is just little grabby but hold more power. I need a turbo upgrade its still stock. How are the diesel dynamics jammer turbo ?Wheres the best place to buy a htb262?Any other suggestions for turbo.
