If I pierce the pump, even not using 5x5 often and very very seldom, would I still be 'STRESSING' the injection pump or killing it quicker than not piercing?

I pierced my pump wire at around 40,000 miles and ran it on 5x5 alot, if it wasn't on 5x5 it was on 3x5 until I put my injectors in somewhere around 120-130,000 miles. I now have 163,000 miles on the original VP with the stock type lift pump being in the stock location until about 20,000 miles ago when I moved it back with the Vulcan kit. I personally don't think Comps kill pumps, I think bad fuel, low pressures, low levels and high heat kill VP's unless of course they are early VP's (98-99) some of them died early when a Comp was added.
