I have heard from reading other threads that a Edge Comp can be an EZ just by either not tapping the pump wire or by cutting the wire and putting on a switch. First of all am I right in assuming this?

Okay so I cut the light gray wire that I was 99% sure went to the injector pump, wired and LED switch to it so I could turn it on and off. I pull trailers for our business a lot and not having as much power and less smoke is good for climbing hills and such.

Well I tried this out on the way home from the shop and the truck dumps the same amount of smoke and still has the same power with the switch on as it does with the switch off. What did I miss? I know there is power going through the wire when I get on the righht pedal hard because the light blinks on and off. Am I missing something or is there not a large difference between the two?

Just make sure you have the gray wire tapped into the correct wire to the injection pump, it is the one that is closest to the engine block. With the pump tapped you should notice a big increase in power and smoke if you have the LED setting turned up. Even on a setting of 1/5 I produce a nice amount of smoke.

Actually, there isn't a need to break that wire, you can just alter the setting on the Comp to mimic the same power of an EZ.

If you leave it set on level 1, I think that is equivalent to the EZ (and the additional power through the tapped wire isn't in use). And if you go with sub-level 1, you don't get additional fueling until boost exceeds 20psi. I know someone else will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I understand it now.
