Does is make any difference untapped what the main level is?

I was under the impression that main levels 2-5 ONLY worked when the pump wire is tapped. Maybe I'm confused about what you are saying, but wouldn't 1x5 work the same as 5x5 untapped? Or as you said you leave it on 3x3 most of the time. Isn't that the same as 1x3 untapped?

Just curious.

Correct, but to change sublevels you have to go thru additonal steps. SO, untapped, you can effect sublevels easily as I posted above. Main level does not change as it is not in effect, but you change the sublevel associated with the main level, by just pushing the up or down arrow. No "holding the button until the light flashs" etc. I have posted this before, however, I do not think people "get it". I can go from sublevel 3 to subleve 5 by two pokes at the up arrow and back to 3 with two pokes of the down arrow. The light bar has turned into a sublevel indicator for me (untapped). "I like it!" SNOKING
