Comp Vs EZ

the question i have is the edge is rated at 65hp and the comp is rated without the wire attached at 40hp, is this correct. i thought it was the same thing.

also, does the comp have a boost fooler like the ez does?

The Comp does function as a boost fooler. As far as your first question goes, I'm not familiar enough with the EZ to answer that. But, I'm sure that someone else here will.

I currently have the Diesel Dynamics version of the Comp on mine with the wire tapped. This is the first box I've had on this truck and am very pleased so far. I especially like the in cab adjustability it offers. There are several manufacturers out there that offer high quality products. With a little research, I'm sure you'll find the one that best suits your needs.



Be very careful of the bombing bug... . It will get you before you know it. And so far, I don't think that anyone has found the cure.

well i have found a really good deal on the comp box and a 5" exhaust. and the bombing bug has already taken over.

i guess im a little leary about the pump wire, but its the only way. i could but a va and save myself about 100. 00 but the smoke is in my head. .

I was a little scared of tapping the wire also. But I'm sure happy I did. I know it doesn't make you feel better about it, but if the VP is going to go. Some have tapped the wire and had no problems at all. Others have lost the pump immediately. Do some searches on the subject and you'll find info on both.



I didn't ask, do you have gauges? You are definately going to need an EGT gauge with a comp. It is really a good idea to install gauges before any modifications. It will give you a good baseline of where you are at now. With a '99 you should think about an EGT and Fuel pressure gauge as a minimum.
