I just got a Comp, and I am still on a stock clutch so I am trying to save it by not hooking up the wire. My question is: can I use all the levels so that I can quickly access the different smoke levels( i/e 1/1 thru 5/5) w/o damaging the box? I know that I am gaining no more power than an EZ above 1/1, but I am trying to keep the clutch in it for a little while longer(gotta save up for a new one first).

I think you can set whatever level you want above 1 but it is going to default to 1 since the VP is not connected.

levels

I have been told that, but what I am after now is different smoke levels by turning it up. I am just worried about damaging the comp.

Won't hurt the Comp to turn it up, but won't do anything for you.

Smoke sub-levels work on main level 1 only, so you get:

1x1

1x2

1x3

1x4

1x5

But anything in the 2x?, 3x?, 4x? and 5x? won't get you anything more.

Have fun, and order up a SBC and tap that wire... you'll soon be Oo. Oo. Oo. all over.

levels

the only thing that I want it to give me is some more smoke and a small amount of power. I have already tried it, it is slightly stronger on 5/5 (1/5 w/o wire), it hits earlier in the rpms on higher smoke levels by adding fuel earlier on the upper levels.

I've EZ'd my comp also, from what I've read on the EDGE website, the only levels you will see a difference on are the first three sublevels(ie x1,x2,x3).

I set mine for the following

1x1

2x2

3x3

This is so I can quickly access the the three adjustable sublevels.

on 1x1 the extra fueling doesn't really hit til after ~15 psi

while on 3x3 it comes on with 0psi.

I've been running mine like this for several months with no problem.

Dido, I pull over the mountains and it seem the only way to keep the EGTs under control.
