After doing research on this and other forums I decided to go with the B&W Companion hitch to use the B&W gooseneck hitch already in the truck I just bought. 2006 Dodge Mega Cab DRW short box. I was worried about cab clearance on tight turns. The idiot salesman told me to go with the gooseneck set up on the trailer and next breath said the factory would void the frame warranty if I did and had any problems.
I purchased the Companion hitch and put it so the weight would be 1 inch in front of the rear axle... . there is still enough adjustment to move the hitch behind the rear axle a couple inches. I purchased a 2010 Montanna Mountaineer 347THT toy hauler 36 feet-11 inches long with the newly designed front end to be pulled with short box trucks. The set up is great... plenty of room to make turns...
Trailer pulls well and the hitch cushions alot of the movement.
Couldn't be happier... . highly recomend the B&W Companion hitch.
Hope this helps decide which hitch will work for you.
