The compass on my overhead console says CAL sometimes. Is there something I can do to fix it? Is there some kind of computer error? Thanks in advance.

I have tried the useless search engine to no avail.

You need to calibrate your compass,I think you drive around in circles or something like that. It's in your owners manual,if you can't find it PM me,I'll go and look at mine.

Drive around in a 20ft circle....

at 10mph until the "CAL" goes away. Make sure you do this late at night & when you are sober because you may be reported as a drunk driver and/or cops will be attracted to you like a magnet... . hehehe :D :D

You may also want to check that you are in the right "zone". This is also in the owners manual. Most of Texas is in zone 6. To set or check the compass variance (or zone): Turn on ignition until comp/temp is displayed. Press US/Metric AND Step button simultaneously. VAR symbol will light. Press Step until the right zone is selected. Wait 5 seconds and the new setting will be in effect. Now press the US/Metric AND Step buttons for more than 6 seconds until CAL symbol lights. Drive in circles in a level and clear area until the compass is set or you pass out. You may not know where you're going, but you now know where you're headed!
