On my 2012 I have installed the Mopar Severe Duty fuel filter that adds a frame mounted pre-filter and I wanted to report that the Mann Hummel PL250/1 works perfectly as an alternative.

I also wanted to report that the Fleetguard LF9028 combination oil filter fits the 6.7 just fine: that's the oil filter that act both as an inline and by-pass. I did 2 oil analysis prior to switching from the LF16035 Stratapore to the combination so I could get a baseline. I'll be running oil analysis next oil change to see if it makes any difference.

Just found this thread from a search. I had dealer install the Mopar Severe Duty Filter kit on my 2012 because they gave a good price: $220, far less than the $450 mentioned in the TDR article. For a while the Mopar filters were in short supply but my dealer always had one for me, and so I had them do the filter mounted on the engine and the frame mounted MSDF once a year. The MSDF was about $50 the past three years.

Left the dealer on Thursday with a charge of $85 for the MSDF filter, and a one hour labor charge of $95 to replace the two filters. So, no more of that!

Would appreciate hearing whether others have been satisfied with the Mann or Baldwin alternatives they have used.

Thanks.
