Anyone on Long Island New York know of a competant transmission shop to do a clutch swap on my '02 CTD 6 speed? I know it's a big job with many nuances associated with our trucks. I'm want to upgrade to a SBC Con OFE. I'm looking for a shop with experiance on our trucks. Thanks.

I live in Southern Connecticut, not that far from you. I went to Mass Diesel, which is a couple hours' drive from me. Scott knows his stuff cold, and I'm still glad I took the ride almost a year later. Give him a shout. That costs nothing, right?

I use a guy in Hamden CT. Hes a Dodge/TDR guy himself so he knows his way around these trucks. His screenname is TnLRacing if your inclined to travel the distance.

Thanks guys. Hey Larry, I was already leaning towards Auto Werks. I spoke to Chris on the phone already. How did you like their service? Also, how do you like the SBC Con OFE? That is what I want to go with. How does it compare to the stock clutch? I need a clutch that will handle at least 700 ft. lbs of torque and 325 hp (current output, but it may be higher soon. What is your truck putting out? Thanks.

I was very happy with their install. Took about 8 hours, which is what they had quoted. The only bad part was the drive up there and back, about 5+ hours each way, so it made a long day.

The OFE has been great so far, it has over 100000 miles on it. Works smooth, and pedal pressure is no stiffer than stock, we tow pretty heavy, and a lot of my miles are towing. I am not sure of my exact power, the last time I dynoed it was 307 hp, torque ?.

Larry, it's about a 4 hour ride for me, but I think it will be worth it for peace of mind. It sounds like they know there stuff. Did you hand around the shop all day while they were doing the work?
