:{ Got home tonight from my test run with the new Fast Coolers and went to lift the steering wheel up and the truck just died. Everything just went completely black. No dash instruments, no motor running, not even a click when I turned the key for a restart.

 Sat there for a minute trying to think what had just happened. Pulled the steering back down and all the dash instruments came back on. Tried the key and it started back up again. Rotated the wheel back up with it running and everything died again.

Got out of the truck kind of  cause I got a trip comming up this next week to Utah. Rolled out the tool box and popped the covers on the steering and found that the main feed wire (solid Red) to the key was severed right at the back of the plug inside the spade. Pulled the plug apart and unlocked the spade from it and repaired it by de-soldering and stripping the spade of the old broke piece of wire. Installed a new 2 inch jumper to the cleaned spade to allow enough wire for flex when the steering is tilted. Works great now:D :

Figured I would post this for information should some one have the same problem and find himself in the land wonderment. :)

Thank you for that report.

Lucky it wasnt something serious. But something like that could take DC monkeys a week to a month to narrow down. Then another week for a new wiring harness to come in.

At least this doesnt sound like a fire hazard, just a failure.

Nice job dude.
