Computer can't be flashed

I had my 95 2500 automatic in for the relay recall and asked the dealer to check the computer for the shudder I am getting at 1100 rpm. I left a copy of the TSB covering the problem. The service advisor told me the computer could not be flashed and a new computer is needed. One of the techs told me they had just received notice not to reflash that computer because of some chip problem. Anyone out there know of a good aftermarket computer for the truck?
