Concert Go'ers...... 15th row good?

I have a concert question..... I've never been able to be "up front and center", closest I have ever been was the 11th row in a small theater. I have a chance to buy 15 row concert tickets to see :



Brooks and Dunn

Dwight Yoakam

Gary Allan

Trick Pony

Chris Cagle

Cledus T Judd



Its the center section 15th row.



My question is, at a big concert is that a decent location? I could buy upfront and center, but I don't wanna spend $245 a piece

Those are horrible seats. You need to get the better ones.



Now, if you have a set of15th row seats just laying around, I'll take them off your hands.



Actually, 15th row isn't bad at all. It sure beats the 7th level seats I had for the George Strait concert in the Astrodome. That wasn't the 7th row that the 7th floor above the dome floor. Talk about your nosebleeds. But it was the last Houston Livestock Show to be held in the Astrodome so it was worth it I guess.

So i am guessing thats the lowest level 15 rows from the stage?

At George Straight, Garth Brooks, I wasn't that far away but certainly not close enough to talk about. This was back in Denver.



I haven't been to a concert since I left Denver, other then KISS farewell tour (I was real close). but it was stand up.



Only one I don't really care to see is Dwight Yoakam... . BUT my girlfriend likes him so its not so bad. Mainly I wanna see Gary Allan. Starts a 330pm LOL Its the Neon Circus.



For $40 more (total) I could move up to the 11th row.

That depends on how they lay out the arena. It is definately not bad. Take a look at an arena map. Sometimes the side sections are actually better. Some times the sides are close and as high as the stage.

Its an Ampitheater so section 3 and 4 go upto the stage. I'm trying to get a picture of the seating arrangements.

Might be hard to swallow, but I have been to over 100 concerts. Most are BIG local artists, like Pat Green, Jack Ingram, Cory Morrow, and such(these guys are gods down here). Most of them are in bars, or dance halls, and you can literly touch them, get their autograph after the show or drink a soda with them. Seats, what are those for? They just get in the way when you want to go get another soda.



You have not seen a real performer untill you go see Roger Creager, in some run down joint, with the music WAY TOO LOAD(just about right ), and EVERYBODY in the place go nuts, even if they have NEVER heard of him.



Curtis, would you agree?



As for those tickets, get'em, you'll get to see Chris Cagle, who I have kinda wanted to see. Gary Allan's OLD stuff is great too.

You keep mentioning soda?? You ain't kiddin me man.

I can honestly say, I've never seen anyone steal a show from 9 other guys like Roger did that night. Not once but TWICE. Even with guys like Clint Black and Trace Adkins(which BTW is once awful big feller) on the stage, this guy had the entire place on their feet.

Lower Level or Floor?

If you are talking lower level, go for it. If you're talking floor, I would say not to. I was lucky enough to get 10th row floor tickets for Garth a couple of years ago, and I couldn't see anything the entire time. As soon as you get one step above the floor, you can see everything. Now that you mention it, I'm getting a little wound up to go see Kenney Chesney on the 8th.

You can try and spread Texas Music around all you want, but others just WILL NOT catch on. I have been a part of the country weekly magizene fourms for some time, but no one, unless they are from Texas and know them already, will even try it.



Robert Earl Keen, not at his best in a HUGE place like the Woodlands. Don't get me wrong the show was great, but it was ment for the "college crowd", something a fan like myself has moved on from. He did "5 pound bass", and "the road goes on" and the others that made it great for the kids that were there "to be there" if you know what I mean. Charlie Robison had a really good set. Cory Morrow was Cory Morrow, nothing new, but I've seen him about 5 times anyways. Really the highlight for me was seeing Owen Temple on the side stage. This guy can write a song like few others.



All in all a LONG, day filled with GREAT Texas Music, what else could you ask for, besides a soda cheaper then $6 bucks a pop.

My best concerts were 7th and 11th row

Up close and personable. They look right into your eyes, you can catch guitar picks, drum sticks...



I saw Tommy Shaw sing Snowblind with every expression - still a vivid memory for me. 7th row was great. I "felt" the songs better.



11th row for AC/DC! standing on seat entire time!



Some concerts like Rush have a great show. These might be better to get back away from?

I saw Van Halen in Sacramento and was in the front row... . good stuff... too bad is was with Sammy instead of David Lee.



I think 15th row sounds good.....





TxDiesel - I have just discoverd Charlie Robison (along with Jack Ingram and Charlie's bro). That is some good stuff. I just ordered his live album from his website. I can not wait to get it. .

Charlie is a GREAT song writer, and his latest album there is a song called "anything might happen tonight" and that song, I think Charlie gives a real "fell" of what he feels in this song with the way he sings it. Robert Earl Keen said when he first heard him 2 years ago that he is the saviour of country music.



Jack is my fav no doubt, but his new electric album is kinda different, I like it, but I am too big of a fan not to, his best was his ablum Hey You, I listen to that CD everyday in my truck, it hasn't moved out since i got it over a year ago.



there are MANY more out there, if you really want to learn more then you should look at a yahoo egroup called TxCn I think, if that's wrong, I'll fix it.
