My left front headlight has condensate on the inside surface. Its pretty well always on the top surface and regularly on the front surface in front of the running light but rarely in front of the headlight. Is this a problem? If it is, any recommendations on how to fix.

I have applied the 3M film to the front surface. Any connection?

Hi JPul,

Well, a small amount of moisture on the inside is not a problem. It can be common--especially on humid days during rain. Our lights have a small vent on the back side to allow for changes in humidity/temp/air movement. I would check to see if its clogged. It should look like a small silver round piece of tape--which covers a very small hole. Make sure it's clean and breathable.

If that doesn't work or it looks ok, take the light out and remove the bulbs and blow out with DRIED shop air or take in the house over-night and let the air equalize. Make sure the bulbs are seated tight on re-install.

If it really bothers you (like it would me) the dealer may replace under warranty. My wife's Toyota Prius headlight assembly was replaced under warranty for the same thing.

However, if the water pools in the headlight assembly, a new one/repair is in order. If the water splashes onto a hot headlight bulb, you can count on a busted bulb!

Good Luck.

DT,

Thanks for the response. Its just condensate, no pooling. I was thinking removal would be required. I was thinking a bit of time in the oven at 125F would dry it out. I can't let the temp get too high or I may have a problem with the 3M film. If I feel strongly enough about this, removal would provide the look see at that flap that you mentioned.

Warrantee is not a consideration because I believe that Chysler canada will not honour a warantee on a truck imported from the US.
