Did you check that your heater control is not in the Recirc mode? If the A/C is off in the recirc mode you will get fog on the inside of the windshield. Also possible that the A/C condensate drain is plugged up with jelly from mircoorganisms growing in the A/C bay of the heater.

Another common cause of condensation right after start up is caused by shutting off the truck with the heater control in the defrost mode. In either of the two defrost positions, the A/C compressor runs to dehumidify the air depending on the temperature of the evaporator coil. When the truck is subsequently restarted the water in the A/C drain pan is still present and the first puff of air that comes out is saturated with moisture. When this air hits the cold windshield instant fog/frost depending on outside temperature. it is hard for the defroster to remove as there is no heat to evaporate the moisture that has condensed on the inside of the windshield. My dealer sugests to put the heater in any position other than defrost or recirc, turn off the A/C and run the fan on high for a minute or two prior to shutdown to prevent or at least minimize the effect. My experience with coolant leaks is that they cause extreme fogging as there is a constant supply of hot water to produce saturated air. Additionally there is the very distinct smell of antifreeze. Hope this helps. Ken Irwin

Turning off the A/C compressor for a few minutes before parking the truck in the summer also helps eliminate the musty smell from the A/C vents upon start up the next morning.
