Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) confirmed #53

Thanks everybody for telling me how to tell if i had a #53 block, which i do. Now, what are the odds of this thing cracking? Should I worry about it or not, although i know there is nothing i can do about it. The truck has 140,000 miles on it and no apparent cracks yet. Thanks again.

Cracks are rare on the '53's to begin with - and with the miles you have on yours, yer block SHOULD be well seasoned and unlikely to cause problems at this point - save yer worries for winning the lottery...
