Congratulations to Thomas Skoropad, whose stunning fall photo was selected for the month of November in the TDR Calendar contest. Thomas hails from Canada and has equipped his truck with the extreme winter months in mind. We asked Thomas some questions about his truck so you could know a little of the backstory of the calendar photo on your wall.

Turbo Diesel Register:
Where was the photo taken?
Thomas Skoropad: I took the photo just off of Highway 61 on Rengo Road, within the Minnesota North Woods. The area is located just 10 minutes south of the Canada/US border and 40 minutes south of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

TDR: What are the details of the truck and what modifications have you done?
TS: The truck is a 2011 Ram 2500 4X4, Laramie Longhorn Edition. The current odometer at that time was 80,800 KM (50,207 miles). I typically get 21.6 miles per Imperial gallon when unloaded.

Modifications:
Edge Insight CTS Monitor
S&B Cold Air kit w/Scoop
MBRP Cat Back Stainless Dual Exhaust
Lightforce Genesis 210 X4 Driving Lights
Bilstein 5100 Shocks
Banks Rear Differential Cover
BD Diesel Steering Box Stabilizer
Duraflap Mud Flaps
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 Winter-Studded Tires

TDR: What is the most unusual and heaviest thing you’ve ever trailered with it?
JM: I trailered a Kubota tractor on a tandem axle flatbed, at 5,500-pounds.

TDR: Have you ever entered the TDR calendar contest before?
JM: No, this is the first time I’ve entered the contest, however I’ve been a TDR member since 2012 and a Ram Turbo Diesel owner since 2011.

TDR: Do you or does your family have a name for your truck?
JM: Yes, we call her “Daisy III”.

TDR: Is there any other information you’d like to share about the truck?
JM: Daisy has never failed us in our temperature extremes from -40F winter, to +95F summer.

Thank You Thomas for being a part of our Turbo Diesel Register community!

Thank you! It is definitely worth a road trip. A must on your list. The Lake Superior circle tour is great any time, absolutely fantastic in the fall.

Beautiful truck and photo -- and what vistas you must see up there! Thank you Thomas for being a TDR member for the past 10 years - we're glad you submitted your photos for the contest!

Thank you! Not sure if this Canadian company has anything for the ‘20s.

Unfortunately they don’t appear to show anything for the ‘20s of yet. Who knows, maybe in the future. Could also be worth contacting them.
When this photo was taken, I did not have the lower insert installed. Outside ambient temps were still a bit too warm.
All laser cut stainless, with a rubber perimeter. Quick removal and install (less than 10 minutes for all 5 sections) once set up, just a Phillips screw driver.
Only complaint is that the inserts play havoc with the outside air temperature sensor which is mounted behind the grill.

Nice looking truck sir... I really like those grill inserts for winter driving, wish I could do something like that on my 20'
