2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Connector source?

Does anyone know of a source for the electrical connectors used by Dodge in these trucks? I can't get them from the parts department at the local Dodge dealer. I have a rusty pin in connector C128. It happens to be the ground for the stuff after the cab: lights, fuel gauge, etc. I can always make a new ground connection in the rear of the truck, but I would like to replace the connector if possible.

I believe Molex is one of the larger automotive suppliers for connectors & wiring stuff.

Did you mentioned C128 "connector number" so I can compare it to the pics in the FSM?

Where is this connector at? I have been chasing a ground problem to the rear of the truck a year and couldnt find it. So I just bybassed the oem grounds and ran my own. A photo would be nice!

I'm not at home right now so I don't have my service manual handy. I cleaned C128 and have the ground working, but I would like to get a new OEM connector to replace it. I'm sure there are other connectors on the truck that have corroded pins. That is why I would like to know if there is a source for these items. As far as I know C128 is the only number for that connector. I was hoping that would be the problem with my ABS/Brake light being on all the time problem. Alas cleaning the pins for the sensor didn't help that problem.

There are three connectors just in front of the driver's side front body cushion. I think the center one is C128. I don't have the service manual with the pin diagram with me. I think it was one of the larger pins in one corner that is used for the ground. There is another connector in that wiring harness. It's between the fuel tank and the frame. I was lucky that C128 was the problem. If it was the other one it would have been a lot more work to check and/or clean.

Joe, The problem with the abs/brake light is the sensor in the rear axle pig, replace that and lite will go out. I had same problem and that was the fix.

Is that connector one if the ones that are at the forward cab mount on the drivers side, behind the inner fender? I couldnt get them apart in my search and i think now that is where my problem is. Its been intermittent for years, hard to frind that way. fixed the problem by grounding the trailer plug.

I've replaced the sensor on the rear axle twice. No change either time. The problem was intermittant, but is solid now. It throws a 10 code which means a bad connection. At times I could get it to work if I started moving as soon as the engine starts. The failure occurs during the self test that occurs whenever the truck is not moving. If it detects an error it will turn on the ABS warning and brake warning lights. It will also disabled the RWAL which is all I have. I have temporarily disable the RWAL by unplugging the computer part of it under the center of the dash. Now the red brake warning light works correctly if the parking brake is left on. I would like to get the RWAL to work correctly. If the 10 code is proper then I have a bad connection somewhere. Swaping two rear axle sensors didn't work. I really don't like to throw parts at a problem until it goes away. I don't really know a way to test the RWAL, so I did attempt to change the sensor in spite of my hesitation to do so. Didn't work.

Did you make a new ground connection? I ran across this thread while searching for something else. For future reference if someone else digs up this thread , Waytek Wire and Del City also have some connectors and good prices on wire and electrical supplies, but they aren't likely to have the specialty connectors on our dodges.

Yeah, I cleaned up the connector as best I could. Then used some electrical grease on it. So far, so good.

What is the make of the plug ? Don't supose that it is an AMP connector is it?? If so the electrical wholesalers should be able to get hold of them or an electronics shop should be able to.

Ditto on mouser electronics — www.mouser.com they carry equivalent wx-tight connectors and I have interchanged the pins between these and OEM harnesses. Also MSD carries deutsch-style connectors which are same. Mouser will sell retail - too bad we can't get a club discount since they have alot of what we need. BTW with no offense intended, Radioshack will be out of the component business by 01/07 - so don't bother.

Too bad about Radio Shack. The first RS store I ever went in was all components. Counters of bins of components. One geeky guy for a clerk who knew about electronics.

Well, I guess if its not xbox or a cell phone it doesn't count - BTW most of the seasoned shack employees are NOT pleased about Ft. Worth's decisions. I guess we've become a society that waits for somebody else to invent it for us. Having devised a way as a teenager to get a 9 volt battery to make +/- 9 v for guitar pedals this really stings!!
