I found a 2001 HO long box, QC 4x4. Truck seems well cared for, has goosneck ball, wiring in bed, brake controller, pac brake, 78k miles. Runs out fine except for possible front end issues. The steering wheel is 1/4 turn off, and the steering is painfully vague compared to the third gen trucks.

So, what is the solution to a lasting front end and avoiding death wobble? How much$$

How about the lift pump/injection pump problems. I assume this truck suffers from both. Any reliable solution and again, about how much$$

Any other big things to look for?

Thanks Guys

Well THAT reply is a little insulting. Sure there are pages upon pages if I want to spend 5 hours on my dial up connection and look. I was kind of hoping for the most updated opinions since things do change. Pretty sure after three years I can figure out the search without a link. Maybe I should just stay over on the 3rd gen board

BH,

Injection pump: lots of decent ones out there. Check out Industrial Injection for quality rebuilt pumps. The also make a real nice hot rod pump if you would want to go that way.

Lift pump - relocate it back by the tank or go with a decent aftermarket system. Many options from a couple hundred bucks up to the top of the line. Again, I am happy with my FASS pump only system. There is a lot to say about the filtration of the full FASS system, but my injection pump is still alive with 107k on the factory filtration system. I have seen a lot of talk lately about these Vulcan big line kits. I agree that getting rid of the stock lines and banjos is a good idea no matter which way you go.

Front end - I would tighten that up with a 3rd gen track bar conversion or Don Thuren's bar. I ran a Luke's link for a while and the two bars above seem to be a lot better. I have had zero problems with my Thuren track bar and 35" tires. Don's bar is adjustable which is nice if you plan to level the front end. It is priced real nice too. Just be careful if you are not going to lift it as some people have a problem with clearance at the front differential cover. You can call Don and he will tell you how to check for this. Also, check the ball joints.

Other than that, sounds like a great truck. just my $. 02. Everyone has their favorite setups/products.

I just found an '02 QC LB Auto 3. 55 ratio for my son the other day with 80K on the clock. I have an '02 and have protected my injection pump with a Westach 0-30psi gauge from Geno's Garage, and installed a STANADYNE 33945 pump/filter combo back on the frame rail behind the transfer case as a pre-filter-pusher pump. I did not want to go with the pump in the tank deal from Mopar. Too much aggravation when it has to be changed. Definitely get the gauge, and don't go below 8 psi at any time. Then you can add a pusher pump system or replace the supply pump. I have some new supply pumps if you need one, and instructions on how to mount the 33945 pump/filter. PM me if you want more info...

On the front end, there are several technical bulletins out there, and here is a link for you: http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/00_steer_specs.html , and check out this link:
