Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Considering New Clutch for H.O.

I am considering a new clutch for my truck so I can add some more power, called Centerforce Clutch and they said that their H. O. clutch would hold about 800 to maybe 900 ft#tq . Has anyone got a oppinion on this clutch, and also a price range. Thanks for the help

this is southbend country buddy! I haven't heard anyone say anything about the centerforce clutches, but south bend is VERY popular. Good support, and a great clutch from what i've read. I'll be getting one shortly.

South Bend rules!!! Call Peter at SBC and he will hook you up. His clutches and customer service are awsome. I had a chance to meet him and talk with him at PDR Dyno-mania he is even better in person than on the phone. You wont be sorry.

I have seen some not so press on the center force clutch with our diesels. They don't hold all that torque. GET A SOUTH BEND. That's the ONLY one. BTW peter is a great guy. Eric

CenterForce clutches are designed for high-rpm gassers. The idea being that the higher the rpm, the tighter they get. Our Cummins run under 3200 rpm normally. CenterForce works better at 3600 to 5000 rpm if I understand their product. South Bend is the way to go for our applications.

Thanx for the clearing it up I knew that ours just was'nt made for center force I just could'nt remember what it was. I guess I'm just suffering from CRS Can't Remember shhhuuutttff.

What are you thinking, going for something else other than a Southbend?! That's the only way to go... if you are going to dive in, get the CON FE!!!! I just recently got one, and OH LORDY!! WOWY! awesome! 3rd gear takeoffs... No Slip... The best way! Let me know, and we can slap that sucker in one weekend!

I'm sure I will go with a SBC OFE but was just checking out the opptions. Chris does your buddie from Dallas with the stacks have a Centerforce I had heard he did? Maybe it was someone else What happened to your OFE could it have been your driving or the power?

There is a guy up here with a Centerforce--but he's not a TDR member-yet. It is in his 3500 with a TST box. I don't know how much power he's getting through it. I think his injectors are stock.



My truck, of course, has a South Bend in it.

JaMan strive to be different don't always follow the CULT like a blind sheep Call around and see for your self. Haisley has clutches and so does Enterprise Engine Performance. They both have great customer service as well.

I am not saying they don't have good clutchs. If someone asks about a performance box every one gives different choice's, because there several choices, now when some says clutch no ever mentions the other good companys that have clutchs everyone just yells SBC. Look at most of the post above they say"the only one" "few quality choices" B S !! This forum is not doing favors to any one if the choices aren't given out. Let the guys make an informed decision is all I am saying. I followed the CULT and it cost me plenty. I don't see any fox holes or artillery, no war here!!
