The converter was a pal's, no wire...and only said where made, not by whom. I'd like to keep the lighter plug on the camera since it bounces around among 4 cars w/o USB ports, rather than convert it (or the detector) to USB and then install a USB port on the four cars.:(

If the dashcam really is a 5V 2A decivce then you don't need to convert anything, simply get a USB cord with the proper connection for the dashcam.

You must have better hearing than my hearing is, or maybe I am so used to listening to Bluetooth devices that they all sound the same to me. Granted I am a slightly older gentleman and my hearing maybe going slightly. I can tell no difference in sound quality between my wife's car and my truck, nor my Apple Ear pods. I also have Bluetooth ear protectors for power tools and Bluetooth shop speakers they all sound the same in quality. Both of our I-phones are new this year so, maybe that helps too.

I bet if you switched between BT and an AUX cable, on the same system (same vehicle, same device) one right after another, you'd hear a difference.....unless of course it is the newer BT version that Ozy speaks of.

In mine, there is no doubt when you switch between the two.
