That does look very nice!! Excellent job Rob!!!! I know it wouldn't be comfortable, but could someone sit on it for a short trip? If I didn't have what I consider to be the best cup holder ever put in a vehicle, I would snag one of those right away.

Yea, I suppose one could sit on it, but like you said, not very comfortable, kinda like sittin' on a, well, a board. It'll hold the weight of MOST people.

that is quality. very nice looking, i would hate to cover up the beautiful cherry wood, but since i have nothing else wood in my truck could it be painted?

how about this...



instead of painting it, how about staining it in a black wood stain, and then a coat or 2 of a flat poly. . the wood would not need to be cherry [which does indeed look real slick. . ] could be pine or poplar or dare i say, some plywood or mdf [the mdf will work if sealed real well, but painted, not stained]



looks good though. . put one of those electric cooler/heater units in it and that would be da bomb. . ice cold bevarages when you want them, or keep a slice or 2 of pizza warm when you are going to be on a day long trip...

just messin with you. . while i do like working with ply and mdf, the are not a good choice for something like that. .



i like the look of black stained wood... . that is what my home speakers are... [too bad they are vinyl laminet and not wood]
