Greetings all.

Been a while.

With 60K on the odo of my 2001. 5 2500 2wd ETH/DEE, I discovered my left upper balljoint had died an early death.

My intial reaction was, replace them all with upgraded parts from MOOG, or some other premuim part.

Only problem, no aftermarket MFG has part?

Come to find out, the ball joint is not meant to be serviced, rather the control arm is replaced!

My upper running just north of $200! That's one EXPENSIVE BALL JOINT!

Anyone have any experience to the contrary with this?

OR BETTER YET? Have part numbers for me???

Thanks

MaX

Dunno what the difference might be, but I got Moog ball joints with zerks for my '98 from Car Quest- they pressed into the control arms.

Yeh, the local Pep Boys got the Moog parts for me, they were the press in variety and MASSIVE compared to what was on my truck, and different.

Apperently DC changed the design since your year model?

A $210 upper control arm later, problem solved, that's an expensive balljoint! Glad I didn't have aftermarket Urethane bushings pressed in.

yes, you are correct, i think they changed the ball joint/control arm design in 99, the only after market ball joint that is available is for the 4x4's. there is little to no aftermarket parts available for a 4x2.
