Control arm troubles

I have a 91 D250 2wd that I had ball joints installed on a while back, I failed to get an alignment done afterwards. So I noticed tires wearing prematurely other day and took it in shop and he said I needed new control arm bushings so after trying to get control arm off I noticed the guy spot welded ball joints to control arm he said the threads had pulled out when he removed old ones. He done a friend of mine the same way and his broke. But now I can’t find a new one says they’ve been discontinued so is there something that will interchange or a better fix for what I’ve got?
