2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Control Arms and Bushings

OK. I have a 1996 2500 4x4 Long Bed. It has about 200K on it, so it's about time to freshen up a bit.



For those of you who have been through it, how would you proceed and why:



A) New control arms with new bushings



B) New rubber bushings



C) New non rubber bushings



On A). Does someone make aftermarket stock config? What would be the value in doing that?



On B) Can I just get rubber bushings by themselves?



On C), my concerns are the squeaking I read about, as well other non tangibles.

If there are no problems with the control arms you have, try to find polyurethane bushings. A bit stiffer than stock rubber but not so much that you get vibration and road noise transferred through them to the frame/body. Just my . 02

I replaced the original rubber bushings on my 96' about a year ago. The rubber was more expensive then poly. I can flex the stock control arms with my hand. I'd look to the aftermarket for stock length. After dealing with the hassles of rehab I'd prefer to upgrade next time.

DT makes a stock length replacement control arms, and also if you want to level the truck or you already have it leveled and want to bring the axle back to center you can get there +1/2 length. They have poly bushing and are built real well, stronger than the stockers. Check out my pics to see what they look like also check out there web site. Later.
