I saw the PDI truck and a couple others with check valves tapped into the intake tubes b/w the intercooler and turbo and intercooler and motor. Im gonna be moving to either a SPS66 or Aurora 5000 and am for now just gonna install head studs. id like to keep my boost pressure around the 55psi range and was gonna install check/safety valves to help release my boost pressure so i dont try to mix oil and water unintentionally. does anyone know where or what kind of valves theyre using? thanx in advance

Your wasting your time at 55 or 60 psi installing blow valves. The MLS and studs are a good setup as long as you use your head.

thanks for al the helpful info jwilliams!!! youve posted on everything ive asked!! what would you suggest then? just set the wastegate or add a boost elbow? any and all info greatly appreciated!!

Well with the SPS66 you can control the wastegate. With the Aurora 5000 your fuel is the wastegate.

The blow valves are out of the grainger catalog for around $20 a piece or so.

Nathan wright uses popoff valves from water heaters on his twin kits. Not sure how he gets the pressures right though. The bad thing with blow off valves is that when they open your turbo speed goes into orbit because of the high RPM they already run. Gassers use them because when the throttle plate closes it has to relief the boost pressure somewhere. A wastegate will actually control shaft RPM better and keep your turbo together if your pushing it with high boost and drive pressure.
